The second collotype plate by Rothschild in the February issue depicts Hammam Meskoutine in Algeria- a collection of hot spring waterfalls featuring mineral concretion geologic formations. The hot springs were a popular destination for the well-heeled European traveler in Rothchild’s era for their therapeutic value.
