Editorial comment for this plate:
Our Illustration.—We have selected a view of “Cortina, Switzerland,” by Mr. Alfred Stieglitz, as our frontispiece, which, we feel sure, will be appreciated by our readers. It was awarded a medal at the American Institute Fair last year. Mr. Stieglitz says: “Cortina is one of the most picturesque spots in Europe, being situated in a luxurious valley in the heart of the world-famed Dolomites.” (p. 363)
print notes: “scuffing” type lines within plate located on horizon to right and left of bell tower.
