A young girl holds a cut bough laden with what appear to be apple blossoms.

Besides her interest in amateur photography, Whitensville, Massachusetts native Jane Dudley, (1859-1940) a graduate of Wheaton Female Seminary, was the organizer of the Samaritan Association of Whitinsville. This vintage example of a genre study showing children dressed in 18th century clothing while dressing their doll in an attic was done in the very popular “Colonial Revival”style at the beginning of the 20th Century, which took advantage of America’s love of its’ colonial past.
