In 1896, Swiss artist and etcher Hermann Hirzel designed the woodcut floral artwork for the card stock covers of Die Kunst in der Photographie that were issued from 1897-1903. In addition, Hirzel supplied the floral headpiece adorning the back cover as well as this floral design used on the inside front cover illustrating the Contents page. (Inhalt) For this issue, the Contents page lists and features the photographic work of the Society for the Promotion of Photography in Lepizig  (Die Gesellscaft Zur Pflege der Photographie In Leipzig) which appeared in 1900.
