A two-page introductory overview of the newly issued Photographisches Centralblatt for October 1, 1895 by editor Fritz Schmidt is dated September 15, 1895 in Karlsruhe. The first paragraph begins:

An die Leser! (To the Readers!)

Es mag vielleicht mit Recht als ein Wagniss angeschen werden, dass zu den bestehenden awanzig photographischen Zeitschriften in deutscher Sprache, van denen etwa die Hälfte wegen ihres gediegenen, reichen Inhalts und ihrer vorzüg-lichen Ausstattung eine grössere Verbreitung gefunden haben, noch eine weitere — das Photographisches Centralblatt — sich zugesellt.

This compiled volume of six issues for the first year was bound without advertising matter. (later issues of the journal in this archive feature several pages of advertising per issue)  The volume pagination for 1895:
