In New York City, The Woolworth Building is seen in the distance framed within one of the tall archways of the Municipal Building. (now: The David N. Dinkins Municipal Building) Both still standing and NYC landmarks, the Municipal Building was first occupied in January 1913 and The Woolworth Building, under construction since 1910, opened as well in 1913 on April 24. This popular view of the Woolworth, most likely taken soon after it opened-perhaps around 1915-was also captured by commercial photographers from the time period, (Boyd was an amateur) and can be found as vintage postcards in the marketplace.
