This winter streetscape by long-time Wilkes-Barre, PA resident and Camera Club member Benjamin Joslin Boyd (1881-1958) most likely depicts the downtown Wilkes-Barre area. Fond of atmospheric studies, his 1915 snow study A Bit of Winter earned him a certificate during his club’s exhibition that year, depicting a “vista seen through the driveway of the Coal Exchange building during a snow storm”. As late as 1943, he was actively involved as a print chairman for the YMCA Camera Club of Wilkes-Barre.
