The translated title of this photograph as indicated on the plate list to the portfolio is The Cliffs of Corbière in the Storm. Taken by Arthur Dresser of Bexley-Heath, it shows water crashing over rocks and cliffs extending off the coastline in La Corbière, which is located at the far south-western coast of Jersey in St. Brelade: part of the island of Jersey (southernmost of the Channel Islands) off the coast of Normandy, France. The island itself is a British Crown Dependency.
The photograph, which exhibits shades of light green and blue ink, has been printed as a text photogravure at the bottom of the final letterpress page immediately after Josef Maria Eder’s technical essay for the portfolio.
