Ohio native and amateur photographer Elizabeth Garst Stoltz (1863-1944)  attended the Clarence H. White School of Photography in New York City in 1917 & 1918. (1.) This unsigned photograph of an unknown subject was most likely done as a requirement for a portraiture assignment as part of the school curriculum. The 1917 date assigned to this print by PhotoSeed is based on similar dated examples by Stoltz  seen on this website.
