Ethel Lorene Blumann, (1902-1990) the photographer’s daughter, is shown as a young girl wearing a traditional bonnet. The photo was taken around 1910, with this finished bromoil example printed in 1926. The work was reproduced as the frontispiece for the July, 1920 issue of Camera Craft (preceding p. 215) where it was titled “Ethel,” ⎯ A Home Portrait. Ethel Lorene Blumann, (1902-1990) who did not marry, spent her career working as a teacher and reference librarian in Oakland, California.
