Russisches Fuhrwerk | Russian Wagon

For its time, this modernist composition shows a woman being transported in a horse-drawn carriage photographed from overhead.

Aleksey Sergeyevich Mazurin: 1846-1920

From Moscow, Mazourine, who came from a wealthy family, learned the trade of merchant at a Frankfurt commercial school. In 1870 he first became interested in photography.

From the early 1890s he actively participated in international photography exhibitions. From 1894 he was a corresponding member, in 1895 and 1896 a foreign member and from 1897 to 1902 and 1906 a full member of the Society for the Promotion of Amateur Photography in Hamburg (before 1895 the Hamburg Amateur Photographers’ Association).
