Pratt Institute Girl

Pratt Institute Girl

In September 1898, C.R. Tucker joined the faculty at Pratt Institute, Brooklyn, N.Y. where he was an assistant instructor in physics. This mounted Pratt student portrait was one of the artist’s earliest known efforts at photographing some of his students. Tucker is believed to have taught at Pratt until early 1900, when US Census records show him and his young family moving to Staten Island.

Charles Rollins Tucker, 1868-1956.
