Originally tied with ribbon through four punch holes along the top margin, (since perished) the front cover features the title placed within a simple design: what appears to be a magnifying glass with handle at upper left. (an illegible name, possibly an artist credit, is printed at top end of handle) The publisher credit for Nims & Knight is engraved at lower left corner of tinted design. The front (and rear) cover is made from specially molded paper with floral motif that appears embossed, described in a sales catalogue as “bound in tinted plastic board”. (“plastic” denoting the flexible state of the paper media utilized)
As one can see, the cover suffers from major damage: corner losses, staining. It is in an unconserved state.
