Editorial comment for this plate:
A FOREST STREAM.
SOME time ago we presented our readers with a forest brook, made by a successful Chautauquan in a prize competition. The subject seemed to be particularly attractive to a large number of our readers, so we venture to present them, this week, another forest brook scene, which has been sent to us without the author’s name, as in the case of several other pictures shown in THE PHOTOGRAPHIC TIMES.
“A Forest Stream,” like its companion, is especially excellent for its delicate detail. The able management of light in this picture, however, is more conspicuous, and results, perhaps, in a more pleasing effect. The foliage is soft and attractive, and the picture, as a whole, is one that shows thought and skillful treatment.
