Along with Charles Scolik, F. Schmidt was a contributing editor of the Photographische Rundschau and a faculty member of the Technical University in Karlsruhe.  Schmidt is listed as “Docent der Grossherz. Badisch. Techn. Hochschule in Karlsruhe” on the title page of the journal for 1895.
