St Andrew’s Church, which may date to the 8th Century, can be seen in the distance in this bucolic view of the ancient village of Bishopstone located in East Sussex, England. The artist is believed to be Margaret Florence Banks: 1872-1949. 

Banks was born on 4 July in Everton, Liverpool, England. England & Wales Census records from 1891, 1901 & 1911 give her occupation as dressmaker. As of this writing, no other details could be gleaned from secondary or other sources regarding her work as an amateur photographer. Bishopstone is a village and former civil parish, now in the parish of Seaford, in the Lewes district, in the county of East Sussex, England. Bishopstone Village has a population of about 200 people, including the nearby hamlet of Norton.
