Childhood

Childhood

Editorial Comment for this plate:

CHILDHOOD.

The magnificent portrait study, by President McMichael, which we presented to our readers some weeks ago, has made them hungry for other similar examples of portraiture by the same gifted photographer. We show them this week an appropriate companion to “The Storm.” “Childhood” requires no words of explanation from us. It shows the same skill in posing and lighting which the picture of the old man evinced, and, like it, is an excellent example of portraiture for the study of aspiring photographers. (p. 351)
