This is the special Christmas number of The Photographic Times for 1893, with the wrap covers done using green ink on coated white paper and the masthead frame and lower band done in gold-colored ink. Featuring editorial pagination from pp. 717-756, an additional 40 full pages at the rear of the issue printed on light-orange paper are devoted to advertising matter. Two special illustrations appear in the issue: the frontis, “Santa Claus“, a hand-pulled photogravure by Emilie Clarkson, and “Chianti“, a multiple-colored halftone of an Italian scene by Alfred Stieglitz. (both are linked at bottom of this page). An important 4-page history of the journal also appears in this issue: The Story of the Photographic Times.
