Geoffrey Roland Ballance: 1874-1934
Sheep graze on the shores of Lake Garda in Italy. The image most likely dates to ca. 1905-1910, consistent with other known Italian studies by the English photographer. This example was printed by Ballance sometime between 1924, when he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and living in Menton, France, and 1930, when he had moved to Dunbartonshire in Scotland.
