Bundles of corn shocks frame pumpkins awaiting harvest by farmers loading a cart in background lead by a team of two horses. This fine genre photograph of Fall was most likely “stage directed”, as the field hand at left is shown pausing while hoisting a pumpkin into the bed of the cart while the array of gourds is seemingly perfectly spread out in the foreground.
Although the name of the photographer is not known, (LRM?) a possible longshot clue might come from the Print-Criticism column of the journal Photo-Era for January, 1915: p. 41:
“L.R.M. – …On the whole, we like your harvest-scene of corn-stacks and pumpkins the best of the lot.”
