Titled in hand of photographer below image: “He giveth snow like wool”

 

He Giveth Snow Like Wool was the title used by Irene Jerome for a wood engraving she made for the 1890 volume In A Fair Country by Thomas Wentworth Higginson. (see page 79)

 

The title most likely refers to a passage in the King James Bible: Psalm 147, verse 16: He giveth snow like wool: he scattereth the hoarfrost like ashes.
