A mysterious study of a lone horse in a foggy field, standing before a drainage canal. The photograph is believed to be by photographer Leonardus (Leo) Lorjé, born in Rotterdam on October 12, 1882, died in Haren on June 5, 1957. Married in Utrecht on 24 February 1910 to Elisabeth (Bets) Morpurgo.
Translated from the web: “The youngest son Leo Lorjé established a stationery shop in Utrecht in 1900, which was moved to Groningen in 1925. There Leo Lorjé started a paper and stationery shop at Heerestraat 42 on the corner of Kleine Pelsterstraat.”
Due to lack of succession, the business was closed around 1925.
