This unusual roundel cyanotype featuring a snowflake photogram design surrounds a separate portrait of Hamilton Brewer Rencurrel, (1898-1983) taken when he was four years old. (1.) A hole cut in the photogram has been replaced by the portrait, glued from the verso.

Manuel Emile Rencurrel: 1867-1919

Boston amateur photographer Dr. Manuel E. Rencurrel obtained his Graduate of Pharmacy (Ph.G) by 1889 and was also a medical doctor as cited by an 1897 medical journal. (2.) The 1900 US Census shows he was born in France and immigrated to the US in 1884.
