Souvenir De Londres

Souvenir De Londres

This remarkably printed screen photogravure-complete with impressed border- was published most likely in the early 1930’s by J. Arthur Dixon, a firm which specialized in postcard views. Showing several Hansom cabs plying their way on a rainy London day with the Houses of Parliament in the background, it is believed to have been taken by Misonne at the turn of the 20th Century. Used here in a four-fold card, presented along with Christmas Greetings and printed in red ink by letterpress. Card particulars, (all done in red ink letterpress) :

card recto: The Season’s Greetings and the best of Good Wishes for a Happy New Year
