Star Cloud in the Milky Way was a supplemental collotype plate included with the August, 1895 issue of The Photographic Times. Along with many full-page halftone plates, but appearing later in the issue, (opposite p. 96) it was used to illustrate an extensive article written by Professor E.E. Barnard (Edward Emerson- b. 1857) of the Lick Observatory in California titled Astronomical Photography. (pp. 65-88)
