This idyllic landscape scene by Charlottesville, Virginia amateur photographer Ernest P. Seabrook won third prize in a monthly contest sponsored by the Burr McIntosh monthly magazine. It was reproduced as a full-page halftone in the August, 1908 issue along with others illustrating the article Aristocracy in Photography by Roland Rood.

print condition: slight silvering to recto margins, bump with tear to lower left corner. remnants of support and adhesive to top corner of print verso.
