The silhouette of a dying tree soars skyward, a thicket of vines girdling its trunk. Another mounted example of this print held by the family of the photographer includes an exhibition label for Scotland’s 1931 International Salon of The Bridge-of-Allan and District Photographic Society.

Recto: Lithobrome print has been varnished; signed l.r. corner in black ink: Sigismund Blumann F.R.P.S.; small loss to u.l. corner; the photographer used an extremely fine mesh screen mask- evident on magnification- to diffuse the overall look of the print.
