The Valley dates to around 1905, when a mounted halftone of it was published in Art in Photography, published by Boston’s Photo-Era Publishing Company. 1.

Small label, which has come loose from support, reveals it had covered title of former photograph formerly mounted within folder, indicating Clarke had re-used it for the Postal Photographic Club in February, 1908, of which he was a member.
