Unter Dem Zeichen Des Sturmballs (Warnemünde) | Under the Sign of the Storm Wall

People hurry over a storm wall as waves crash over it. The structure was believed to have been located in the Unterwarnow, the estuary of the Warnow river in Warnemünde, Germany. On the horizon can be seen the Warnemünde Lighthouse, put into service only three or four years before this photograph was taken by Franz Goerke.

Warnemünde, literally Mouth of the Warnow, is a seaside resort and a district of the city of Rostock in Mecklenburg, Germany. It is located on the Baltic Sea and, as the name implies, at the estuary of the river Warnow. Warnemünde is one of the world’s busiest cruise ports. -Wikipedia (2024)
