This unusual presentation of a framed photograph as a plate reproduction in a photographic journal certainly makes the composition itself stand out. It also served to educate aspiring photographers of the day as to working methods and how a final exhibition photograph by Raupp was being presented to his larger discriminating audience attending the salon.
