This study of a woman playing the piano, a kallitype print by Nancy Ford Cones, may be of Alma Katherine Meier, the wife of Arthur H. Morse, a mechanical engineer working for the Baldwin (piano) Company of Cincinnati, Ohio. Photograph was described when purchased as being from a group of (possibly commissioned) photographs of the Morse family, believed to date from around 1925 based on the age of several of the Morse children in one of the photographs not owned by this archive.  Arthur Holmes Morse graduated from Harvard College in 1901 and began working for the Baldwin company in 1910. He married Alma Katherine Meier in Cincinnati on June 5, 1920. Holme’s profession may explain the subject matter of the piano in this photograph.
