In 1896, Swiss artist and etcher Hermann Hirzel designed the woodcut floral artwork for the card stock covers of Die Kunst in der Photographie that were issued from 1897-1903. In addition, Hirzel supplied the floral headpiece adorning the back cover as well as this floral design used on the inside front cover illustrating the Contents page.
