Verso: Early, pasted white and yellow paper label 5.6 x 13.6 cm engraved: SIGISMUND BLUMANN 3217 Davis Street Fruitvale, California with hand-written title and process in black ink by hand of the photographer: “Blue Monday”  Bromide; this is a very early example of a vintage print by Blumann believed to have been printed before 1920.

-The backing matt for this photograph is a cut colored lithograph promotional poster for American musical composer Frederic Knight Logan (1871-1928): “Compositions that should be in your music collection”, along with his stylized portrait. Logan was known as America’s “Waltz King.”

Acquired for this archive in July, 2024 from the photographer and editor Sigismund Blumann’s grandson Thomas High.
