This photogravure, printed by Annan & Sons in Glasgow, was included as the frontispiece to the January, 1897 issue of the British photographic journal The Practical Photographer. (vol. 8, no. 85´╗┐)

Within the plate marks is engraved a poem by Tennyson:


As tho’ a star in inmost heaven set,
So full, so deep, so slow,
Thought seems to come and go
In thy large eyes, imperial Eleänore.
