Journal Cover: Photographisches Centralblatt 1899

Beginning in 1899, the card covers issued with Photographisches Centralblatt were changed to a green color and new artwork as well as new typography was used for it. All issues for 1899 used these covers but it is not clear if they were carried over into 1900 and beyond.  The artwork is believed to have been executed by the journal’s managing editor, Fritz Matthies-Masuren. His initials, FMM, can be seen as part of the design directly above the “S” in PHOTOGRAPHISCHES in the lower right hand corner of the graphic frame displaying mountains in relief.
