Also known by the title Swamp Landscape, (Sumpflandschaft) this is a brown-toned photogravure taken from a gum print.

Ludwig David: 1856-1930

Breslau 1856 – 1930 Berlin

The officer David was not only an amateur photographer, but also a specialist author and photo technician. From 1884 to 1885 he constructed a salon and travel camera for the Lechner company. In 1887 David was a co-founder of the Vienna Amateur Photographers Club (from 1893 Vienna Camera Club). In 1890 the Technical Military Committee in Vienna appointed him head of the photography department. In 1896 he became a member of the Linked Ring London, and from 1897 the Society for the Promotion of Amateur Photography in Hamburg listed him as a corresponding member. (1.)
