I am often surprised in the continued interest in the work of Belgian pictorialist photographer Léonard Misonne (1870-1943). His atmospheric landscape, village and animal studies have a devoted following among collectors world-wide almost 70 years after his passing. This landscape, “Dusty Road”, is a fine example of his work: printed in exquisite gray/blue tones as a Chine-collé photogravure in the first year (1897) German folio publication “Die Kunst in der Photographie”.
