Editorial comment on this plate:

OUR COLORED ILLUSTRATION.

The charming picture from the well-known negative by H. P. Robinson, England’s gifted artistic photographer, which embellishes this number of The Photographic Times, was reproduced by Messrs. Bartholomew & Peckham, of New York, by their new color printing method. The plates are etched direct on hard copper by an original method which is considered the most perfect way of producing this beautiful result. It requires three printings, though only two colors are used, and the result, as all will observe, is soft, harmonious, and very like a well-toned albumen silver print.
