Editorial comment for this plate:

With the plate.   (translated)

The plate accompanying this issue is reproduced from a negative by Mr. J. Veuger, in St. Maartensbrug. The exposure was made in August, at 3 o’clock in the afternoon, Busch rapid Aplanaat, f/8, 2 seconds exposure, in clear weather, developed in pyro-soda, pyro reduced to half and diluted with some more water during development, to obtain a harmonious negative. The shadows were lightened somewhat with a gray tinted screen. The Westendorp & Wehner plate was coated with anti-halo. Nothing has been retouched on the technically very beautiful negative.
