German amateur photographer Rudolf K. Knuffmann’s winter landscape of a river flowing through ice and snow is enhanced by the plate printed in an appropriate shade of blue ink.

Rudolf K. Knuffmann: 1858-

Krefeld 1858 – after 1908, Cologne
Knuffmann, son of a chair maker, was a manufacturer and worked as a furniture dealer. At the end of the 1990s, he switched to the stationery and art trade. Among other things, he published postcards in his own publishing house (Rudolf Knuffmanns Kunstverlag). In 1908, he moved to Cologne. (Lit.: Notice from the city archives, Krefeld) (1.)
